Good Service Awards


East Norfolk District has some amazing volunteers, who give up their spare time to plan and deliver skills for life and everyday adventures, on a daily basis our leaders go above and beyond for their Group or Unit or support of the District and more.
Individuals are recognised for going above and beyond by Good Service Awards, Commendations, and on occasion National Honours.  Length of Service awards are also presented to recognise for the length of time volunteers have been involved in Scouts.
In East Norfolk the following individuals have been recognised…

Queen’s and King’s Scout Award

The Queen’s Scout Award is the top accolade for members to achieve when under the age of 25.
This award continues to be celebrated and can be worn as an adult in Scouting to to recognise those who achieve it.

Commissioner’s Commendation

The Commissioner’s Commendation is a local award used to recognise youth members or adult volunteers.  It has no length of service criteria, and recognises when an individual has made a special contribution to Scouting, another charity or their community.

The Silver Wolf

Is the unrestricted gift of the Chief Scout and is only awarded for service of a most exceptional nature.                                                                     
It is not normally awarded until at least a Silver Acorn has been gained and a further prolonged period of exceptional service has been achieved. In practice this means that it is seldom awarded for less than 30 years’ service although, because it is the Chief Scout’s unrestricted gift, no length of service is prescribed.
