St. George’s Day Photo’s 2022 East Norfolk celebrated St. George’s Day in style, with Circus the Dragon and every Scout Group in the District joining in fun and games. The Gathering was the first time since 2019 that everyone had joined together – over 300 took part – what a fantastic sight to see the Flags flying once more. The St. George’s Day Awards that had been awarded during lockdown were celebrated by the District Vice Presidents hosting a tea party and Jennifer Chetwynd presenting the awards for everyone to celebrate. The East Norfolk Events Team planned and delivered an afternoon of activities on the theme of Circus the Dragon’s Fun Fair Games.Everyone renewed their Promise and watched the story of St. George that was filmed by the Scout Groups and Explorer Units of East Norfolk. The activity bases were enjoyed by Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders too plus Circus the Dragon was part of the fun ! And whilst East Norfolk celebrated at the Derek George Centre in Caister, our Youth Commissioner Harri had the honour of carrying the St. George’s Flag at the National Scouting Day of Celebration and Achievement at Windsor Castle. Liam our Network Commissioner was at Windsor too, and part of the team that delivered the Service in the St. George Chapel and interviewed Major Tim Peake, Scout Ambassador and British Astronaut.
