Wildlife Photography Competition Peacock butterfly Kingfisher Common Frog Wasp Spider Coinciding with the ‘Outdoor in 24’ promotion from HQ this year, the Nights Away team have launched their own challenge for young people across the District to join in with. We want to see your wildlife photos, whether they’re from your garden, your meeting place, out and about with your Group or when you’re away on camp.The competition will be split into 5 categories, with one winner per section (i.e., Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs etc.), there will be a prize for the winning picture in each section as well as runner up certificates. We will also feature the best of the photos on the District website, so please get snapping and send us in your pictures. Competition Rules Dates: The competition is open from 1st March to 31st August 2024, any submissions received after this date will not be accepted. Eligibility: Open to all young people (aged 4 to 17 years) attending any section of Scouting within East Norfolk.All pictures must be the photographer’s own work. Help may be given by adults to upload submissions etc. Subject Matter: Any type of wildlife that may be encountered in your garden, at your meeting place, while out with your group (or family), or away on camp. Pictures may include aspects of Scouting, but the main focus should be wildlife. Picture Submission: All pictures must be submitted electronically using the upload form on this website.Digital adjustments may be made, for example; cropping, changing tone or contrast, focus stacking, but pictures may not be manipulated to add or remove objects or other physical changes. Judging: All pictures will be judged by a panel of 3 independent adults from within the District. Prizes: There will be one prize per section (Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Explorers) as well as runner-up certificates for each section as well.
